“The people taking care of our loved ones work tirelessly and deserve to be recognized,” said Robert Kidd, Perry Foundation president. “They work hard with little or no recognition because they are passionate about caregiving. The Perry Foundation spends a great deal of time, analyzing their needs, of which we build educational programs around, all with the goal of improving the quality of care the residents in the buildings are receiving.”
According to Kidd, the Foundation last year awarded nearly 3,000 continuing education units to licensed administrators, licensed nurses, and social workers throughout Nevada. The Foundation has also provided hundreds of hours of in house education and training for health care facilities and communities. The Foundation has collaborations with the Sanford Center for Aging at UNR, HealthInsight Nevada, and the Nevada Department of Veteran Services. The Foundation has also been credited with starting the Nevada Music & Memory Initiative, bringing the nationally acclaimed Music & Memory program to Nevada, improving the quality of life for individuals residing in Nevada Nursing Homes with Alzheimer’s or other dementia related diseases.
